Stranahan High School

Maritime Technology ICAN Academy

Stranahan High School’s Maritime Technology Academy provides students with hands-on learning opportunities connected to marine science, boating, ocean technology, and the maritime industry.

Beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, Maritime Technology will be offered as part of Stranahan’s Integrated Career and Academic Networks, or iCAN, Magnet Program. The iCAN model combines project-based learning with workplace and technology skills, helping students connect classroom instruction to future education and career opportunities.

Students will explore environmental stewardship and the wide range of careers available on and around the water. Through practical activities and career-focused learning, the program is designed to develop problem-solving, collaboration, leadership, and technical skills that can support future study and employment in marine and maritime fields.
