Program Overview

Broward College’s Marine Engineering Management program prepares students for technical and management careers in yacht maintenance, repair, and retrofit. The program combines college-level academics with hands-on training in the systems found aboard modern yachts, mega-yachts, and other recreational vessels.

The full-time Associate of Applied Science program can be completed in approximately 24 months. Marine courses are taught by experienced industry professionals and take place primarily at the AutoNation Automotive/Marine Center on Broward College’s Judson A. Samuels South Campus.

Education and Career Pathways

Students receive training in marine electricity and electronics, diesel and gasoline engines, propulsion, auxiliary equipment, air conditioning, corrosion prevention, composites, refinishing, welding, and other areas used by marine service technicians. The curriculum also includes general education courses and a marine internship.

Students can complete the full 66-credit Associate of Applied Science degree or pursue shorter technical certificates in Marine Technology, Marine Electrician, Marine Propulsion Technician, and Marine Systems Technician.
