Created in 1961, the Marine Industries Association of South Florida is a not-for-profit trade organization focused on the sound growth of the marine industry for the benefit of its members, their customers, local communities, and the environment.
MIASF is made up of more than 500 members across Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties and is the owner of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
Supporting South Florida’s Marine Industry
MIASF works to support, protect, and grow the region’s marine industry through advocacy, workforce development, education, events, community programs, and industry initiatives.
Beyond the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, MIASF leads and supports programs such as Salty Jobs, the Marine Research Hub, the Yacht Service Technician Apprenticeship Program, the Broward County Waterway Cleanup, and the Plywood Regatta.
Industry Impact
Through its work, MIASF has become the largest marine trade organization in the Southeast United States. The association remains dedicated to protecting and growing regional marine jobs, promoting boating lifestyles, and supporting the goods and services that sustain South Florida’s yachting and marine community.
MIASF’s efforts support more than 142,000 regional marine jobs and help drive an annual economic output of $18.5 billion.
Advocacy and Awareness
MIASF works to raise the professionalism of the marine industry and increase awareness of its economic impact among the public, elected officials, and regulatory leaders at the local, state, and federal levels.
Through its members and partners, South Florida has earned a reputation as a global center for yachting, marine goods, services, and innovation.
